In January 2016, the American Conference Institute (“ACI”), one of the leading organizations on educating the insurance industry, conducted its 18th National Advanced Forum on Litigating Disability Insurance Claims. Alicia Paulino-Grisham was again invited to participate as a Speaker.
Ms. Paulino-Grisham’s presentation was titled “Effectively Approaching and Utilizing the Independent Medical Evaluation, Treating Physician’s Opinion, the Functional Capacity Evaluation, Neuropsychological Evaluations, Medical Records, and More in Disability Insurance Claims.” This topic addressed the types of evidence utilized by claimants and insurance companies to support their positions, provided a detailed analysis of how the various courts have ruled when presented with such evidence, evaluated current trends in the law, and lead a thorough and candid discussion of the pros and cons of utilizing each type of evidence in disability insurance claims. It was an interactive presentation, with participation from the attendees, which consisted of attorneys representing claimants and those representing insurance companies.
As always, Ms. Paulino-Grisham was honored to be invited to speak at ACI and enjoyed the presentations and exchange of ideas with various colleagues in the disability insurance industry. We look forward to many more years of participating with ACI.
